Miss Universe 2006, Zuleyka Rivera was in the city as a part of the International AIDS awareness tour organised by Sanjana Jon and I.G. International. While addressing the mediapersons on Tuesday afternoon, Ms Rivera said that she was very happy to be in the city and was looking forward to having a good time. At the same time, she spoke about AIDS awareness and stressed on the importance of getting oneself tested for the disease.

“Life is a gift from God and we have to value it. If someone is affected by AIDS it doesn’t mean that it is the end of your life - what is important is to learn from the experience and move on,” she said. The beauty queen’s tour of the city included a visit to Dr Suniti Solomon’s clinic in Taramani, a meeting with the governor and the fashion show later in the evening.
