Need for Proactive Action at Workplace

The need for Indian industry to proactively initiate and sustain healthy and educated discourse on HIV at workplaces is immediate. The economic and social consequences that will come with unchecked HIV infection rates are highly significant.

Tamil Nadu, the state with the second largest number of recorded HIV infections in India is also a state that is highly industrialised. Low literacy levels and consequent poor health awareness among the bulk of the workforce render them vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases. Mass media channels carrying HIV information have been found to have limitedinfluence on their risk behavior.

YRG CARE programs aim to instill timely and proper awareness on HIV/AIDS. The objective is to generate self-awareness of potential risks and shifting behavior to a more responsible approach.
